Amy |
Amy Zhang enjoys playing music and has played the violin for 4 years. She also has played the piano for 5 years. Amy plays in Honour Strings and Wind Ensemble at Killarney Secondary School. She enjoys going out and hobbies like reading, drawing, or biking in her free time. Amy enjoys the art and complexity of musicianship and classical music repertoire. She hopes to bring memories and mentorship to students in VYMA.

INSTRUCTORS
Aaron |
Aaron is a Grade 11 student at Killarney Secondary School. He is passionate, motivated, proficient, and dedicated to his craft. Aaron has been a part of the Killarney Strings program since the beginning of his high school career, and has many years of experience playing the violin. He hopes to share his knowledge and enhance the growth of the students; he looks forward to meeting the students and broadening their musical horizons. In his leisure time, he enjoys playing sports.

Aidan |
Aidan is currently a grade 11 student in the Killarney Honour Strings Program. He started playing the violin since grade 8 and also knows how to play the piano. Some other hobbies he has besides music includes playing video games and playing basketball. In the VYMA program, he wishes to inspire and show others the beauty of music.

Callie |
Callie Tan is a grade 10 student at Killarney Secondary School. She began playing piano at age 4, and now, she's preparing for her level 10 RCM exam in 2024. In 6th grade, Callie discovered the YouTube channel Twoset Violin, igniting her passion for the violin. She joined Killarney Strings upon entering high school and is now in Honour Strings. At Killarney, she leads the Chamber Music Club and loves to arrange and write music for the club. She hopes to bring her love and passion for classical music to younger kids and share her experience. Apart from playing piano and violin, Callie loves studying music scores, playing badminton, and speedcubing.

Davy |
Davy is a grade 11 attending Killarney Secondary School and has 6+ years of experience with the violin and is currently part of the honour strings orchestra. He is very excited to be part of VYMA and to share the passion he has for music to the young kids. Asides from that, he is a big fan of volleyball and also enjoys video games.

Sam |
Sam is a grade 11 student currently attending Killarney Secondary School. He joined the strings program at Killarney in grade 8 and has been playing viola since. In his spare time, he enjoys reading books and playing games with his friends. By being an instructor at VYMA, Sam hopes to share the beauty of music with those who haven’t experienced it yet, just like how he discovered it back in 2020.

Leilah |
Leilah is a grade 11 student at Killarney Secondary School. She first started with playing the piano for eight years before switching to play the violin in grade 8. Since then. she has been a part of Killarney Strings orchestra. By joining VYMA, she hopes to teach young children the joy and knowledge of playing an instrument. Apart from music, Leilah also enjoys baking, watching movies, and reading.

Taylor a grade 10 student at Killarney. She joined VYMA's social media team to help promote the program's good doings about mentoring kids how to play violin! She enjoys baking, playing badminton with friends and painting. She's only been a part of the killarney strings program for 2 years, but it’s her favourite class every year! She aspires to use her skills to promote and inspire other kids to join VYMA! |

Ana Cao is the team lead for finance and fundraising team for VYMA. She is currently a grade 11 student at Killarney Secondary School. She’s very passionate about working in this community and hopes to gain new experiences. She hopes to learn new skills such as better organization and team work. During her free time she likes to volunteer with kids and challenge herself with new things. |

In her free time, she enjoys playing the piano and watching kdramas. By joining VYMA, she hopes to support the organization so that the joy of music can be spread throughout the community. |
